In February of 2024, Hamilton shocked the world by announcing that he was leaving Mercedes AMG Petronas F1 team and moving onto a new chapter of his life with the Scuderia Ferrari F1 team. Almost a year later, on Wednesday, January 22nd, 2025, in the town of Fiorano, the seven-time champion had his first test drive in the 2023 Ferrari car.

Hamilton’s first days at Ferrari began with a photoshoot outside of Enzo Ferrari’s home, which can be seen on his social media platforms as he captions it, “There are some days that you know you’ll remember forever and today, my first as a ferrari driver, is one of those days.” Many fans have noticed that in this picture Enzo’s house has seven windows, symbolizing the seven championships that Hamilton has won, and a red door, which could symbolize a possible future eight championship win. As well, a Ferrari F40 car pokes into the frame of the picture, evoking nostalgia for a childhood photo of Hamilton, where he sits in front of a red car with a license plate beginning with F44 – a fitting connection to his iconic driver number, 44.

Hamilton continued to excite his fans by later on sharing a photo of himself in the red Ferrari suit, which many admit suits him well. Adding onto his iconic outfit, he unveiled his first Ferrari helmet. The helmet is bright yellow with dark red accents, and his logo is displayed noticeably on top. Beyond the aesthetic appeal, the helmet is also a tribute to his racing hero. Ayrton Senna, who famously wore a yellow helmet while racing for Ferrari.

As Hamilton embarks on his new journey, fans eagerly await the start of the 2025 season in Melbourne, Australia, to see him in action once again.
